Temperance

Temperance is a great way to wind down at the end of the week (or get cranked up if you're retired).  We usually start gathering at about 5:30, but people drift in quite a bit later if it suits them better.  The location changes from month-to-month, but one thing always stays the same; we drink, eat, talk and thoroughly enjoy ourselves!

Dinner Meeting

Our monthly Dinner Meetings are held at various restaurant locations in the Huntsville area.  In addition to enjoying the "cuisine of the month," we always have an abundance of "white elephants" (groan), and a short business meeting.  If you don't know what a "white elephant is, drop by this month.  You just might leave with a an unexpected treasure. We also usually invite a speaker to keep us informed on topics ranging from guide dogs to high tech NASA and Aviation and Missile Command activities.

Fold Staple & Mutilate (FS&M). 

Help put the monthly newsletter together.  It's not hard work and should go really fast since we always have plenty of help.  It's a great way to get a sneak preview of next month's news and activities, and there's never a shortage of snacks!  It's informal and a great way to meet fellow Mensans.

Sunday Brunch

One Sunday of each month several members like to meet and enjoy a Sunday brunch together.  The location isn't fixed so be sure to check your Mensa calendar or events list before leaving home.  Most often over the past year or so, Sunday Brunch has been held at O'Charley's on Balmoral Drive.  I wonder if that could be because O'Charley's provides free champagne?

Gifted Children

North Alabama Mensa's Gifted Children program is free and open to the public for all ages. The only requirements are that adults stay with the children and that the children want to be there.  Click to read the Gifted Children Statement of Purpose.

Let's Eat

Time and location vary.  Mensans attending this "during the week" get-together are among the first to explore new eating establishment in the Huntsville and Madison areas.

Sunday Social

It must be pretty obvious, we Mensans love to get together to enjoy good food and good company!  This is just another opportunity for local Mensans to do both.  We usually meet at Ding How's in the Villiage Shopping Center at the corner of Airport Road and Whitesburg Drive.  When we do, you can find us in the back room - come join us this month! 

Family Dinner

The monthly Family Dinner provides a special opportunity for members and their families to get together.  Papa Lovetti's, a kids friendly buffet restaurant, has been the location since it's inception.  Of course, you're welcome to participate with or without kids!

New Member's Party

This will be a potluck dinner - Members who joined before the last new member's party, please bring a dish to share.  "New" members (those who joined in the last year and a half) just bring yourselves and spouse/significant other/best friend, etc.  Join us for good food and excellent conversation. 

Movie/Dinner Night for Mensans

This is an opportunity for Mensans to get together to enjoy movies at a local theater.  Many of the movie goers often get together for dinner prior to the start of the movies.
